The objective is to describe the clinical-epidemiological profile of patients with acute myocardial infarction who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention in a referral hospital in cardiology in northern Ceará. It is a documentary, descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data were obtained from the active search for statistical data from the hospital's internal information system, from January to December 2018, consisting of 339 records for analysis. The results showed an average age of patients of 65 years, with a prevalence of males - 76% (257). The main arteries treated were the anterior descending coronary arteries and their diagonal branches, in 62.2% (211) of the cases. 57% (193) of the punctures were performed in the radial artery and 11.8% (40) of the patients died 48 hours after the procedure. The findings reinforce the characteristics identified in the literature and allow to outline better strategies for tracking the outcomes of ischemic heart diseases, while monitoring this information can support evidence that reinforces the importance of primary and secondary prevention of such pathologies.
