Abstract

Objective: To analyze scientific articles related to palliative care in pediatrics and possible technologies or educational health strategies used with family members/mothers of pediatric patients in palliative care. Method: Integrative literature review, searching for articles in health databases and portals. At the end, ten articles were selected to compose the corpus of this research. Results: There was a predominance of the link between palliative care and cancer patients and linked to spirituality, decision making and mutual protection. The educational strategies used were communication and bonding between professionals and family members, through daily contacts; guidance on treatment and diagnosis; establishing a care routine; emotional support. Conclusion: Palliative care in pediatrics has historically been linked to oncology and involves the formation of bonds between professionals and family members, especially mothers.
