Abstract
The present study aims to characterize the profile of users of the Applied Psychology Service of the Federal University of Ceará, Sobral-CE, who presented the main reason for the consultation complaint of suicidal behavior in the period from 2015 to 2020. A documentary research was carried out, of a quantitative and descriptive nature, by mapping information from medical records. In the collection, sociodemographic information, identification of relative risk factors and concomitant complaints were characterized. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyzes were performed, with the aid of the software Microsoft Excel 2010 and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS, version 22.0). After filtering the documents, there were 105 medical records that fit the research profile. It was found that the highest number of cases occurred in the year 2018. Regarding the profile, suicidal behavior predominated among young people, female, single, students, residents of the municipality of Sobral-CE, and who lived with two or more people. The results show that sociodemographic characteristics, predisposing and precipitating factors linked to the context of these people are able to corroborate the risk of suicidal behavior and, therefore, it is necessary to identify these specificities, in order to develop preventive strategies that prevent greater damage in their lives.
