THE EFFECTS OF BODYBUILDING ON BODY COMPOSITION AND WEIGHT LOSS
Abstract
Obesity is a public health problem that generates social, psychological and physical consequences, it is associated with several non-communicable chronic diseases. Sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activity are one of the main factors that lead to this disease. Of the various treatments currently found, weight training, also known as weight training or resistance training can collaborate in the treatment and prevention of risk factors for this disease, helping to maintain and improve the quality of life of practitioners. This article is an integrative review that aims to present the effects of weight training on total body composition and weight loss. The literature shows evidence that weight training is a great ally in combating obesity and has benefits for its practitioners such as reducing body fat, regulating blood pressure, controlling blood glucose and others that consequently lead to improved quality of practitioners' lives.
