Recém nascidos pós termo: traçando o perfil em uma população no interior do Ceará
Abstract
Objective: to analyze the association between maternal age, number of prenatal consultations, birth weight, type of delivery and 5' Apgar score related to post-term births. Methods: information from patients in a hospital and maternity hospital located in the city of Sobral/CE (2016-2017), was analyzed. A total of 64 medical records were identified, among which 4 were related to post-term deliveries performed within the aforementioned period. Thus, variables such as maternal age, type of delivery, birth weight, 5' Apgar score and number of prenatal consultations were used for the study. Results: with the analysis of the data obtained, it is observed that there was a prevalence of 0.625% of post-term deliveries. It can be noted that women of intermediate maternal age have a higher incidence of undergoing post-term births 75%, with a higher percentage of cesarean sections 75%. It is important to emphasize the high Apgar score observed in all post-term births, as well as the lack of newborns weighing less than 2 kg. Conclusion: women who have a gestational age of 42 weeks, born post-term, are in the minority among the others, and it is possible to conclude that post-term birth can bring more risks to the mother and the baby, and should therefore be properly monitored, and, if necessary, undergo medical intervention.
