Periodical senteces: argumentation in the fabula genre
Argumentation in the fable genre
Abstract
The Textual Analysis of Discourse, stated by Adam, conceives the idea that only textual analysis cannot be hampered, because the text is, in its reality, quite heterogeneous. In this way, the study of the compositional structure comprehends the organization of macro propositions in groupings of characteristics called prototypical textual sequences and the discourse. The present work aims to investigate the presence of argumentation through periodic sentences in the fable genre. For this, the definitions of periodic sentences by Adam (1992; 2008; 2009; 2019) were taken as a basis. The research presents a theoretical-practical profile and is classified as descriptive, as it describes the phenomenon of periodic argumentative sentences in a corpus of ten (10) Aesop's fables, texts with a narrative nature. It was verified, through the collected and analyzed data, that, in Aesop's fables, there is the presence of argumentation through periodic sentences, also, the presence of elementary periodic sentences was noticed. Finally, the research in question contributes to the studies of Textual Linguistics, mainly on the heterogeneity of texts.
