Cardiac catheterization is a medical procedure used to diagnose and treat cases of obstruction of the coronary arteries, which are the arteries that nourish the heart muscle. Describe nursing care for patients after cardiac catheterization, based on scientific publications in the literature. It is an integrative literature review of a descriptive nature and qualitative approach, where 19 articles were found in full, of which 8 were excluded because they were presented in a foreign language and literature review, leaving only 11 for analysis. "Nursing care" and "cardiac catheterization" were used as descriptors. The results of the present study highlighted nursing care for post-catheterization patients based on comfort, complications, nursing guidelines, knowledge about the subject and ways of understanding the subject. Some complications of cardiac catheterization have been described, exemplifying them in the risk of hematoma, ecchymosis, vagal reactions, reports of pain and discomfort at the puncture site, which may be radial or also femoral. From the study carried out, it is concluded that it is essential that nursing knows how to guide, welcome and treat all these patients in a human way, acting according to the different needs of each one.
