Environmental Education (EE) is socially relevant and must integrate undergraduate courses since teachers need to be grounded on this topic. Thus, they can articulate it with their specific area and incorporate it into an educational process aimed at citizenship. In this context, critical EE stands out, since it stimulates thoughts and actions that can cause positive changes in the environment and, consequently, in life in society. This study aimed to investigate how a teacher training Higher Educational Institution in the north of Ceará approaches EE in undergraduate courses. This paper is basic research, with exploratory and descriptive objectives, with a qualitative approach. Data collection took place through questionnaires and structured interviews. The results show that both managers and students recognize the relevance of EE, but undergraduate courses did not incorporate (or superficially incorporate) the theme in teacher education.
