Implante de Válvula Aórtica por via Transcatéter: Aspéctos Tecnicos, Clinicos e Assistência de Enfermagem
Abstract
The treatment for symptomatic aortic stenosis is valvuloplasty, conventionally performed by open chest surgery. Some patients have prohibitive surgical risk. The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI) offers a possibility of treatment to thoese patientes. TAVI has been indicated for patients at the lower risk, it has a high cost and is not yet included in the SUS list. Thus, many patients resort to judicialization to obtain it. The objective was to evaluate the applicability of TAVI in terms of cost-effectiveness and benefits for the patient, as opposed to the surgical technique. This is a case study in comparison, preceded by a narrative review, in a documentary, retrospective and quanti-qualitative research, carried out in a reference hospital in Cardiopulmonary Care in Ceará. Twenty-seven medical records were defined to establish a common profile and selection of two cases for comparison. The results are in agreement with the literature regarding recovery time, invasive devices and complications, related to TAVI in lesser extent. Problems were detected in data records and medical bills, which made it difficult to process information due to low detail. The importance of more research on the subject with the participation of nursing is evident, since the nurse is the professional who most closely monitors the patient in the hospital environment, during their hospitalization.
