THE IMPORTANCE OF AN ACADEMIC LEAGUE IN ONCOLOGY FOR PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Academic leagues (LA) play a supporting role in the process of interdisciplinary training in health with a focus on different areas addressed during graduation providing greater professional training for members. The objective was to report the experience of academics from different semesters who are part of the Interdisciplinary League in Oncology (LION) of the Nursing course of the Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA). This is a descriptive study of the type experience report on the teaching-research-extension activities developed by LION in the period from 2020 to 2021. The league organizes its activities based on the integration of teaching, research and extension, seeking to develop studies and events in the area for the academic and professional community, with the aim of adding value in academic and personal training and also curriculum enrichment. Thus, with the creation of LION, the academics and professionals involved had the opportunity to aggregate in their professional training knowledge about oncology in an interdisciplinary way that will be used during the graduation and in their careers.
