ANALYSIS OF THE WORKING CONDITIONS OF NURSING PROFESSIONALS FACING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
In the pandemic context by the new coronavirus (COVID-19), declared in March 2020 by the World Health Organization (WHO), the restructuring of health services and the adaptation of professionals working in this scenario have become necessary. Faced with unhealthy working conditions and work overload, occupational diseases of a biopsychosocial aspect arise. The nursing professionals, the largest burden of health workers in Brazil, who deal daily with suspected or confirmed cases of this disease, stand out. In this study, we analyzed the scientific evidence on the working conditions of nursing professionals in the context of the pandemic by COVID-19. Integrative review, conducted from March to June 2022, based on the six-step method and built according to the PRISMA methodology (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The digital library SciELO, PubMed and the databases indexed to the VHL were searched using the keywords "Nursing", "Occupational Health", "COVID-19", "Working Conditions" and "Occupational Risks", and 4 studies were selected after applying the filters. The impacts of the pandemic on the biopsychosocial complex of nursing professionals and the need to value this category through the implementation of public policies of occupational protection and safety by the managers of health institutions were evidenced.
